The name emberin is derived from the phrases ‘fire in your belly' and ‘stoking the embers inside'. It is our genuine mission to stoke the embers inside each and every one of the people who undertake our my mentor programs.
emberin is Australia's leading gender diversity company, delivering gender inclusivity strategies for organisations, empowerment programs for women and gender leadership programs for men. emberin operates nationally in Australia, and also has offices in Bangalore, India, and provides advice to a number of international clients. We help organisations attract, retain and advance their female employees. We do this by supporting organisations in development and implementation of strategy, stakeholder management and development of women at all levels of an organisation. We help organisations to understand the business case and the facts.
Our focus is to demonstrate a clear return on investment and an indisputable financial argument for developing a separate strategy for retention and attraction of women within and to the organisation.
We see that there are two main prongs of attack for change:
- Empower women - we want you to truly believe that you are capable of creating the career you want. We want to help you as much as we can with this goal.
- Educate organisations - we want to assist organisations in their quest for more diverse and female friendly work environments. Not because it is the right thing to do - but because it makes economic sense in terms of skill shortages, increased productivity and levels of innovation and customer and client strategies.

Our most important company strengths and core competencies are:
- We are not HR people - our expertise comes from women who have worked in the corporate world
- We are quick on our feet
- We listen to our client needs and develop product or tools accordingly
- We use methods that are unique and practical- e.g. My Mentor uses a CD/DVD and work book; we like to use technology wherever we can.
- We are value for money, relevant and we are no nonsense and brave in our approach. In order to get real results in this area we need to be able to move some people out of their comfort zones. We are not afraid to do this.
- We make good business sense. We always look at the business case and not the warm and fuzzy reasons for focusing on female staff. Our approach is that retaining and attracting female staff is about ‘marketing to women' and we use these marketing principles as a basis for discussion.
