Participant Feedback

my mentor 2nd Edition - Challenging women to make it happen

Wow! You have all done a great job. I am very impressed. It is leaps ahead of the first program. More detailed, business focused, more theory, just more involved with the participant in every way.

I love it.

Well done everyone.

Good morning

I had the pleasure to be involved in my mentor earlier this year and can happily say it helped me get the promotion I have been working towards for years.

As at the 31st December I will be a branch manager.

As soon as I left the mentor graduation I started working on my knockout. I ended up with such an impressive business plan there was no way they couldn’t give me the job.

Before participating in my mentor I would not have been so vocal to my manager about the fact that I wanted a promotion I would have just sat back quietly until the job was advertised, then applied for the job and sat back and waited. Instead as soon as I knew the job I wanted was coming up I phoned and emailed my manager about it. Every week I emailed her details of the action plan I would implement when I was given the job (always assuming she would give it to me). In every instance I was presenting it as if I was already the manager. All these weeks of action plans eventually formed the structure of my business plan that knocked their socks off in the interview. There are now parts of my business plan that they have taken to share with other branch managers. I was so confident in the interview and am now more confident than I used to be in my ability and I know that I will be a successful manager.

Thank you. I will be an advocate for my mentor forever and as soon as I can plan to give one of my staff the opportunity I was given.

WOW!!!

I could not wait for you to send my package through the post, so I asked my sister who works in the same building to pickup my package on my behalf ASAP.

Tuesday night my package arrived home before I did, the feeling I had after the launch was back in my system all over again. I sat and listened to CD #1 and what an emotional wreck I was. You hit me right on the spot and I finished module #1 before I even knew it and through all the tears too hehe.

If this is the drive, inspiration and confidence I am feeling after one module, imagine me at the end of all 12.

I do not want to bore you with my whole life story, but know that things that I could not leave behind to enable myself to move forward, I have done so within 12 minutes of module #1.

Thank you so so much!!!! I'm loving the journey already ........

FEEDBACK from a senior man (who works for one of our clients):

Would you be so kind as to pass on to Ms. Frank my thanks for her programme and the work that she is doing for women within our company and we, the men who have so much to learn and unlearn.

May I also support and thank you for your work in this important (nay, critical) programme within our Corporation.

FEEDBACK from a recent my mentor launch:

Thank you so much for the launch - I just floated back to work. Maureen was so inspirational yet so down to earth.

Joan, Brisbane

I attended the launch yesterday and I felt I should contact you to thank you and your team for the wonderful morning that was organised for all the nominees. I enjoyed it immensely and was swept away with enthusiasm. Your speakers were a delight, especially Ms Frank, but the enthusiasm in your voice and intonation really got to me. Whilst I loved everyone's stories, you and Maureen really tugged at what will motivate and enthuse me. I look forward to the journey and participating in the teleconferences and will be interested to watch my development and personal metamorphosis, of which I feel assured.
Kerry, Maroochydore

Yes it was a fantastic session yesterday, the most inspiring both myself and manager have been to, in fact my manager said to me today that she is looking forward to going on this journey with me and she also has our small team inspired as well.

my mentor 1st edition – challenging women to step up

"I had the Assistant Commissioner and the Area Director turn up at the station unannounced today to check on my work and the station. This does not usually happen.

I am pleased to say that I passed with flying colours. The Assistant Commissioner asked if I would be interested in taking on a position in a permanent manner, and I took your advice and told him that I had applied for one of the OIC positions advertised. The position advertised will be merit based and I advised him that my intent was to gain a position from that merit list :-). His comments were "excellent', and 'look out the girls are coming through".

I thought I would share that with you and let you know that Emberin is working for me. We are only on Module Two!"

------------------------

About three months ago I was lucky enough to attend the launch of the My Mentor program at Newcastle. I found the launch itself to be a life changing experience and felt honoured to be chosen to participate. Listening to Maureen Frank brought me to the realisation that I could do whatever I wanted. Maureen’s enthusiasm and courage really inspired me and I was captivated when she shared some very personal stories about her journey. I felt that my situation was different to everyone else and that I was somehow unique – how wrong I was!! At some point we are all faced with decisions, conflict, those internal demons pulling us one way and the next, heartache and heartbreak and we all experience it on different levels and to different degrees and portray the image of the person that we want to be seen as instead of who we really are. I decided the next day that I would embrace my mentor and get as much out of it as I possibly could and I would go wherever the opportunity takes me as I can reside or exist wherever I choose.

Since the launch of my mentor I have listened to the CD’s, brainstormed in my workbook, logged on to the teleconferences and stepped up to the challenge. Now I have had another overwhelming and life changing experience as a direct result of a whirlwind few months since starting the my mentor program. After listening to some really inspiring women (Kathy Cummings, Lyn McGrath, Lisa Cartwright and Vittoria Scott) and taking copious amounts of notes, I finally worked up the courage to verbalise to a SUCCESS Coach that I wanted to be a SUCCESS Coach. I was looking for some guidance about what I should do to secure a position sometime in the future. The next thing I know I have secured the position of SUCCESS Coach for Far North Coast!!

Since then I have been trying to decide where to live, speaking to high schools for my youngest daughter, job hunting for my eldest daughter, packing and trying to fathom how this happened so quickly. If I hadn’t spoken up about what I wanted to do I would never have been given the opportunity it may have been years before this opportunity came up again. The key thing is that if you have an up to date development plan that you would like to be a SUCCESS Coach, or Branch Manager or even an astronaut, it is meaningless unless you do something about it and let other people know -“This is my aspiration and this is what I want to experience” (thanks Lisa Cartwright).

Who would have thought that my life would have changed so much in this very short period of time. I am reflecting on my journey, my life and my future and as the tears well up from a huge sense of pride and knowing how much I will miss everyone on the Mid North Coast I can’t control the excitement that comes from the anticipation of making this change, meeting new people and stamping my brand on the Far North Coast. I encourage anyone who is feeling apprehensive of making of a change or of stepping up to the challenge to just take a breath, count to ten and get out there and do it - have the confidence in yourself to take the chance.
