Captain Siobhan Bacon

CAPT Siobhan Bacon joined the Navy in 1981 as a Midshipman and spent most of the 80s at HMAS CERBERUS the training base in Victoria. In 1992, the then LEUT Bacon undertook the Supply Charge Course and was posted to sea as Supply Officer for HMAS MORESBY.
Putting her logistics theory into practice, the then LCDR Bacon was posted to HMAS STIRLING in Western Australia as the Material Support Officer in 1996. This essentially warehousing, distribution and procurement position held her in good stead to join the newly established Mine Warfare Class Logistics Office as Integrated Logistics Manager and then be posted as the Class Logistics Manager for the Patrol Boats and Landing Craft in Jun 99.
The then CMDR Bacon was posted to Deputy Director Sustainment in Navy Headquarters where she was seconded to be the Commander, Logistics Support Element in the Middle East from Mar to Aug 03. On return to Australia, CMDR Bacon was moved to the Strategic Operations Division as Staff Officer Joint Logistics Plans. On 17 Jan 05, CMDR Bacon posted to JLU(W) as CO. This posting again called upon her logistics and contracting experience. Her next posting was on promotion to CAPT as the ANZAC Capability Element Manager. After this experience, she was posted to undertake more studies at the Australian Defence College.
