Jude Munro

Jude Munro is the Chief Executive Officer of the Brisbane City Council (BCC). Whilst born and educated in Melbourne, her passion for Brisbane inspires her to shape the City’s future as a world-class metropolis.

BCC has an annual budget of $2.3 billion, an asset base of $14 billion and serves a population of 1 million people. In the eight years that Jude has been with the BCC, she has led the organisation through fundamental change to place the Council on the front foot to achieve its vision. This vision is one of delivering active, healthy and vibrant communities within a sustainable environment and supported by a strong economy.

Jude is the first person to be the chief executive of two of Australia’s capital cities. Prior to taking on her role in Brisbane, she was the Chief Executive of the City of Adelaide. Jude has extensive local government experience and has undertaken other senior local government roles, including holding chief executive positions with the Cities of Moreland and St Kilda in Victoria.

Prior to joining local government, Jude’s dedication to the social, economic and environmental well-being of communities was enhanced through senior executive roles with the Victorian Public Service.

Jude’s experience is supported by post-graduate public policy and business administration qualifications. She is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Management.

Jude is a Director of the Brisbane Institute, Australia Trade Coast Pty Ltd, the City of Brisbane Airport Corporation and United Way Queensland. She is also the chair of the National Local Government Drug and Alcohol Advisory Committee.
