Linda Brown was appointed to the role of Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Director TAFE at Swinburne in March 2009. Swinburne TAFE is one of Victoria’s largest providers of vocational education and training, spread over five campuses in Melbourne’s inner and outer eastern suburbs. It delivers around nine million student contact hours with more than 39,000 student enrolments annually. As part of a dual sector university, Swinburne TAFE offers its students the full range of study options, from short courses and apprenticeships to diplomas, associate degrees and graduate certificates.
Linda has a degree in Public Policy and Business, a Post Graduate qualification in Management, a Masters in Education Management and is a qualified teacher (Post Graduate Certificate in Education). Linda has an outstanding record of leadership within the VET sector at a national level and most recently held the position of Director of Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE (MSIT) in Brisbane, one of the largest institutes in Queensland. Prior to joining MSIT, Ms Brown gained extensive experience in vocational and technical education in the UK.
Linda is passionate about education and training for all and has been recognised at state and national levels as an innovative strategic thinker with leadership skills to drive exceptional business performance.
